The Nikkah is a short, beautiful Islamic marriage contract ceremony. The Imam will give a brief sermon about love and marriage in Islam, followed by the couple signing the official marriage contract.

Our celebration will move through some of Casa Loma's most iconic spaces! The Nikkah ceremony will begin in the Glass Conservatory, followed by a Social Hour in the historic Great Hall. We will then move into the Library for dinner, before heading back to the Conservatory to open up the dance floor!

We encourage all of our guests to dress to impress—think formal evening-wear, or your traditional, regal best! Floor-length gowns, tailored suits, dressy separates, and traditional Pakistani garments are all welcome. Out of respect for the religious ceremony, we kindly ask that all guests opt for modest formal attire (avoiding overly revealing or sheer clothing) and refrain from wearing the colour white as that colour is reserved for the bride.

No, female guests do not need to cover their heads since the ceremony is not inside a mosque. However, modest clothing (covered shoulders and knees) is still requested out of respect for the religious nature of the ceremony.

The Walima is the traditional Islamic wedding reception hosted by the groom’s family. It is a joyous celebration to welcome the bride into her new family and thank loved ones for their support. Unlike the Nikkah, there is no formal religious ceremony today—it is purely a celebration featuring dinner, speeches, and socializing!

Our celebration will take over the grand Upper Ballroom (Taunton, Audley, and Middle Halls) on the main level of the clubhouse at Deer Creek Golf Club. There is ample complimentary parking available on-site directly in front of the main building for all of our guests.
